Public lecture: Meditation

Posted on: March 24th, 2019 No Comments

On Sunday 14th April 2019, the London Diamond Way Buddhist centre is pleased to invite you to a public lecture. The topic will be “Meditation” and the talk will be given by Robert Szilagyi, lay Buddhist teacher from Hungary.

Mediation is a method to gain distance to impermanent phenomena such as feelings and thoughts. Buddhism teaches about permanent values inherent in mind, such as fearlessness, joy and compassion. Meditation allows us to not only intellectually understand these qualities, but also to experience them. Observing everything coming and going in our mind gives us the space to finally recognise the observer of everything – the true nature of mind. This talk addresses the main methods of meditation within Diamond Way Buddhism.

Robert was born in 1977 in Transylvania (Romania). In 1989 he moved to Hungary where he took refuge in 1997. Two years later Robert moved in to the Buddhist center in Eger and in 2001 to Budapest centre. He became traveling teacher in 2002.
